Enormous vinyl record spins atop concert venue

The largest spinning vinyl LP that you will ever see was on display at the revitalized Forum – once home to the LA Lakers, and now being reopened as a concert venue – is celebrating its new role with a six night residency by the Eagles and a rooftop made of vinyl.

The temporary roof is 407 ft in diameter, made out of a quarter million square feet of plastic vinyl and spins at 17mph. It is a replica of The Eagles’ Hotel California album, down to the label – and while it may not be viewable by people attending the concert, it is on view for those landing in LAX, which is only three miles away.
