Posterscope Host its Latest ‘The Pioneers’ Event Featuring Justine Roberts

On the morning of the 14th October, Posterscope welcomed the media industry to the third in the series of its ‘The Pioneers’ events which took place at the Soho Hotel.  Our speaker was Justine Roberts, co-founder of Mumsnet.
Over 45 minutes Justine captivated the audience with her path to success, telling her story in such a down to earth manner that it would have been easy to forget that she is responsible for over 70 million monthly page views. She told the audience of the website’s slow growth since 2000, from a site that made practically no money, to a site that now has so much influence that even the Prime Ministers considered it an essential part in their election campaign.
Roberts talked about how decisions and strategic direction are all based around delivering the brand mission of ‘To make parent’s lives easier’, she gave advice to people wanting to start their own business such as the importance of listening to what your audience wants and actually acting on ideas and suggestions that they make. She also advised people of when not listen referring to internet ‘trolls’. And finally, of course, she gave advice to women on the work/life/being a mother balance.
