Heathrow's business lounge iVisions are live

The roll out of Heathrow’s latest digital network, the Business Lounge iVisions, began at the start of the year with the installation of the first 3 high definition screens. Located directly outside the entrance points to the North and South British Airways Lounges in the prestigious Terminal 5, the 80 inch iVisions are unmissable to the elite Business, Club and First Class passengers.
Luxury retailers Gucci and Oakley made fitting launch partners for the new premium network, as they aim to reach the most affluent of passengers passing through the airport to encourage extravagant purchases and high level spending.
This premium network will roll out across a further 9 business lounges over the coming weeks, and once complete will provide advertisers access to an exclusive audience of affluent leisure travellers and influential business leaders, equating to around 3.2 million passengers per annum.

Airport Media Ltd Takeover Gatwick Airport's Media Sales

Airport Media and Eye Airports are pleased to announce they have reached a collaborative agreement that will see Airport Media take over the running and full operations of Gatwick Airport’ Media Sales, with immediate effect. This agreement will facilitate the entire Eye Airports London team, including Sales Director, Ged Weston and Operations & Development Director, Mark James, transferring over to Airport Media, to be led once again by Sarah Parkes.  Sarah will remain involved with DigiCom OOH and will hold a dual Managing Director role across both companies.  Whilst the two companies will share resource the sales teams will be separate in order to maintain a ‘pure play focus’ for both brands.
This development comes straight after Airport Media’s recent appointment by Manchester Airport Group, to handle and operate their four Airports; Manchester; Stansted; East Midlands and; Bournemouth. All bookings at these facilities became Airport Media’s responsibility as of October 1st.
Airport Media was set up by Tom Goddard, Chairman of Ocean Outdoor and DigiCom OOH, as a new sales and management operation.  Bringing a fresh and innovative approach, Airport Media will offer a digital-centric premium media service, for major airports in the UK.
Tom Goddard, Chairman of Airport Media, said:
“The early transfer of Gatwick Airport will enable Airport Media to fast track the launch of its exciting new offering. We are delighted to welcome the whole team on board under Sarah’s leadership. Sarah brings her expertise and knowledge of the airport environment underpinning Airport Media’s commitment to creating a premium, digital-centric media offering.”
Andrew Walker, CEO of Eye Airports commented about the transition:
“I am proud of the impact that Eye Airports has made on the UK airport advertising industry, and pleased the early transfer of Gatwick’s Media Sales to Airport Media will allow the team to build on what we have already achieved. This will allow Eye Airports to focus on its historical specialty – developing the airport advertising opportunities at most of the UK regional airports.”

Gatwick and Airport Media announce new media partnership

Gatwick Airport and Airport Media Ltd have today announced they will join forces in a new venture in digital out-of-home advertising. The new partnership will launch in the first quarter of 2016 when Airport Media take over from the incumbent Eye Airports.
Airport Media Ltd has been set up by Tom Goddard, Chairman of Ocean Outdoor and DigiCom OOH, as a new sales and management operation.  Airport Media aims to disrupt the current airport media model through a fresh and innovative approach, offering a digital-centric premium media service, for major airports in the UK.
Tom Goddard will become Chairman of Airport Media and will appoint and announce his senior management team upon completion of the regulatory TUPE process.
Gatwick Chief Commercial Officer Guy Stephenson said: “Gatwick Airport is delighted to join forces with Airport Media as we look to expand our media estate with a partner that is at the forefront of digital development. We want to build stronger links with the London and International media community. Tom Goddard’s experience and vision for Airport Media are totally aligned with our own ambitions and, together, Airport Media and Gatwick will be focused on delivering a strategic and unique out-of-home media experience in a dynamic and growing airport environment. Gatwick would like to thank the team at Eye Airports for all their hard work over the last five years. ”
Tom Goddard said “The growth and quality of airport audiences has not been mirrored by the level of competition in the airport media market place.  With a definite gap for a pure play, digital-centric premium media offering, I created Airport Media to fill this void. Partnering with Gatwick Airport, one of the world’s most prestigious international airports, is a big first step towards achieving that goal and a huge endorsement of the Airport Media vision.”
