Tom Goddard announced as new FEPE President

Global Out of Home business association FEPE International has elected Ocean Outdoor Group Chairman Tom Goddard as its new President.
FEPE International represents Out of Home media owners, agencies and technology partners worldwide.
Goddard has been a FEPE board member since 2015 and takes over from former Clear Channel International Europe President Matthew Dearden.
Dearden says: “In electing Tom as our new President we are fortunate to have someone to lead FEPE to even greater heights as a truly global force in the Out of Home industry at a time of great media change.”
Goddard says: “Under past presidents Antonio Vincenti and then Matthew, FEPE has been transformed into a truly dynamic organisation, reflecting the growing importance of Out of Home worldwide. I hope to continue that process and also help to navigate change as the industry responds to the many and varied challenges facing all media in the digital era.”
FEPE International has also confirmed the appointment of former ISBA director of advertising and media Bob Wootton as its new Executive Director. Wootton succeeds John Ellery, a winner of FEPE’s Lifetime Achievement Award last year, who will be staying with the organization in the newly created post of Ambassador.

Key speakers to address OOH's biggest topics at FEPE International Congress

Barry Louth, Head of UK Media Planning of European pay-TV leader Sky and Richard Brooke, Media Operations and Strategy Director of Unilever (Europe) will address some of the key issues facing the global Out of Home industry at next month’s FEPE International Congress in Stockholm.
Speakers already announced include Carat Global President William Swayne, who will give the Keynote Address to open the Congress, and new FEPE board member Noomi Mehta of Selvel One who will discuss the rapidly expanding Indian Out of Home market.
The Congress, with the theme ‘A Time of Revolution – Earning the Right to Win,’ will be held in Stockholm from June 7-9.
Sky Head of Media Planning Louth will discuss the importance of Out of Home to the UK’s biggest advertiser, alongside Paul McCormack of Rapport, Sky’s Out of Home specialist agency. Unilever’s Brooke will outline how the rapidly expanding global Out of Home industry should address the issue of sustainability, a key plank of Unilever’s corporate and marketing philosophy.
Other speakers include Eric Newnham and Adrian Skelton from specialist agency Talon, who will give a rare insight into one of the UK’s biggest and most successful Out of Home agencies and the issues the wider industry faces.
Barry Frey, President and CEO of the Digital Place Based Advertising Association (DPAA) will reveal how digital Out of Home is overtaking home-based TV and video as the medium of choice for farsighted advertisers. Also on the subject of digital, FEPE International Executive Director Designate Bob Wootton, former Head of Advertising at the UK’s ISBA advertiser association, will a chair a panel on the live issue of Programmatic Advertising with representatives from all sides of the industry.
FEPE International Executive Director John Ellery says: “We believe this is the strongest line-up of speakers we have assembled at Congress, consisting of senior people from all sides of the industry who will be able to give delegates enormously valuable insights into the issues facing the global Out of Home industry and show clearly how we can move forward successfully together.”

Former ISBA Media Chief Joins FEPE International

FEPE International, the global federation for the out of home industry, has today (10th November) announced the appointment of Bob Wootton as Executive Director Designate with immediate effect.
He will work alongside current Executive Director and industry doyen John Ellery until the next FEPE Congress in Stockholm in June 2017, after which he will assume a fuller role.
John Ellery, Executive Director FEPE, said: “I am delighted that Bob Wootton has agreed to join the FEPE team. We’ve worked together and known each other for many years and I know that his enthusiasm and his media and out of home knowledge will be a great asset for FEPE International.”
Matthew Dearden, outgoing Clear Channel CEO EMEA and current FEPE President, said: “John has played a huge role in building FEPE and the OOH industry worldwide to the status it enjoys today. Clear Channel Outdoor’s Matthew Dearden Appointed President of FEPE International

Barcelona, Spain:  Matthew Dearden, Clear Channel Outdoor’s President, Europe, has been appointed President of FEPE International, the worldwide association of outdoor advertising companies. The news was announced at the 57th FEPE Congress in Barcelona (June 1-3) by the current FEPE President, Antonio Vincenti.
In his new role as President of FEPE, Matthew has outlined a new vision for the organisation, centered around ‘Inspiration’.  The theme reflects both the creative power of the outdoor medium to connect advertisers and people, and also FEPE’s role: to inspire the out-of-home advertising business.
Matthew will also be responsible for chairing the FEPE Board, comprised of senior executives from the global out-of-home industry, to lead FEPE’s new vision and support the organisation’s worldwide lobbying for outdoor advertising with authorities, international organizations, political opinion formers and the communication media.
Matthew – a Vice President on the FEPE Board since 2014 – replaces Antonio Vincenti CEO of Pikasso, Lebanon, who has been in the role of President since 2014.
Commenting on his appointment as President and aims for FEPE, Matthew Dearden, Clear Channel Outdoor’s President Europe said: “I am both honoured and thrilled to accept the role of President of FEPE: honoured to be leading the global association for outdoor advertising during the medium’s biggest transformation; and thrilled at the unique potential this organisation has to nurture our international community to champion out-of-home and drive its continued growth. Posterscope’s Global President Annie Rickard awarded FEPE Leadership Award

Today, at the 57th FEPE congress in Barcelona, Posterscope’s Global President Annie Rickard was awarded the Leadership award.
The award was for her work in transforming a UK poster specialist into a major global force in all aspects of OOH. Posterscope is now owned by Dentsu Aegis.
FEPE International is a worldwide association of outdoor advertising companies. It engages in worldwide lobbying for outdoor advertising: with authorities, international organizations, political opinion formers and the communication media.
The organisation plays a lead role in the standardisation of labels for outdoor advertising research data. FEPE International advocates freedom in communication and actively opposes advertising bans and statutory restrictions on the freedom of communication.
The FEPE congress is a global annual outdoor advertising conference with professional speakers from both the OOH and wider advertising industry.

56th Annual Congress “Your Audience is Waiting”

The 56th FEPE Congress, titled “Your Audience is Waiting”, was held between Wednesday June 10th and Friday June 12th at the Intercontinental Hotel, Budapest, and consisted of 2 full days of presentations and high calibre speakers from across the world, all of whom brought their unique viewpoints on the Out of Home industry.

FEPE announce Annie Rickard will be speaking at the 56th Annual Congress in Budapest

In addition to Dave Trott as key note speaker, FEPE are very pleased to announce further speakers today.
Annie Rickard, Global CEO of Posterscope
Annie was a founder of Posterscope UK and, since 2001, has led the development of the global network which is now Posterscope Worldwide. The network now has over 600 people, in 48 offices around the world. Annie is passionate about being a pioneer for the medium looking for new opportunities for advertisers that better integrate the medium with search, mobile, content and transaction.
Annie last spoke at FEPE in Milan in 2012 and a lot has happened in OOH since then so we are loking forward to her insights on the current global issues facing our industry.
Nancy Fletcher, President and CEO OAAA
Nancy Fletcher, President and CEO of the Outdoor Advertising Association of America will be returning to the FEPE stage to update us on the American OOH industry.
For more than 20 years, Nancy Fletcher has been responsible for leading the out of home advertising industry’s legislative, marketing, and product improvement efforts. As an attorney and former media company executive,
Fletcher is ideally suited to meet the challenges and opportunities facing the industry. During her tenure as OAAA president & CEO, out of home advertising revenues have tripled and market share has doubled, in no small measure due to industry advancements and unity formed and fostered under her care.
Before joining OAAA, Nancy served as senior vice president for Patrick Media Group, the largest out of home media company of its time. She also spent more than a decade with Naegele Outdoor Advertising in various capacities including president/general manager of the Minneapolis/St. Paul division and general counsel for the parent corporation. Before joining the out of home industry, she worked as a young lobbyist at the Minnesota legislature.
The 56th FEPE Congress, titled “Your Audience is Waiting”, will be held between Wednesday June 10th and Friday June 12th at the Intercontinental Hotel, Budapest.
As always there will be 2 full days of presentations and high calibre speakers from across the world, all of whom will be bringing their unique viewpoints on the Out of Home industry.
Last year’s congress in Vienna was FEPE’s best yet, with over 300 delegates attending from 31 countries, both setting new records.
